Work continues on the project with successful casting and tuning of the treble.

The moulds for all the bells are being 3D printed which enables much finer control over the process. Each mould can take up to 4 days to print, however.
The moulds for the 2, 3 and 4 are already completed.

It is hoped that the other 4 of the front 5 will be poured this week.
The previously cast bells are now to be recast. This will enable all bells to have an updated profile, to improve their harmonic content. Some of the metal used is to be from an earlier Warners bell.
It is hoped that pouring the bells will start towards the end of February. I am hoping to be able to post some pictures when this has taken place.

The roof strengthening is finished and the bell frames have been installed.
We are now waiting for the remaining bells to be poured and tuned in the new year.
The good news is that measurements confirm the bells will fit in the restricted roof space….just.
The not so good news is that the flat sixth cannot be installed as originally planned; but various other options are being considered to hopefully include it in the roof installation.
The picture shows six of the twelve bell pits.

Work continues on the mini ring frame and fittings. The ropes and ceiling bosses have been delivered.
The bells will now include an additional flat 6th. This will enable three different sixes and two eights. The lighter eight will be the set available in the portable tower, with a tenor weight of about 10 pounds. Using the lighter eight as the portable set will simplify deployment.
The remaining bells are due to be poured in the new year,
The plans for a mini ring within the St David’s Guild area are coming together.
The plan is for a fixed ring of 12 bells, tenor weight 25-28 lbs. in F, with the back 8 also being portable. The ring will be based in my garage at home, with the bells mounted in the garage roof space and rung from the ground.
The front 6 bells have been cast and are currently awaiting tuning. The back 6 are due to be cast shortly.
There is not much to see in situ at present, the most visible sign being some tentative holes in the garage ceiling for some of the ropes to pass through. The roof timbers, which will form the bell frame, have been strengthened; and plans for positioning and mounting of the bells decided.
